Hello guys, I'm from over on the Jeepster board, and would like to ask a question here?
I have a '90 S10 with the 4.3 engine. When the engine is revved to about 2000 rpms, the engine shakes for a second, then smooths out for a second, it continues to do this at higher rpms, but not as bad. I have noticed on cold days it's much worse.
This engine has been a real champ, 256,000 miles, with almost no trouble. It still has original timing chain & gears, oil pump, the only thing ever taken off the engine itself, has been water pump.
As much mileage as have, I really haven't noticed much loss in power, or change in gas mileage, and oil usage. I did have a local garage hook it up on their computer, but found nothing wrong.
I've done my best to examine the harmonic balancer, the flywheel-flex plate, and they both appear to be fine. Try fuel injection cleaner, not sure it helped any, maybe I should've try it several times. Haven't checked EGR valve yet, that might be the culprit.
Hope I've given enough info, and I'd really appreciate any help here, thank you.
