Front drive shaft

Alright, the front drive shaft of the 94' Olds Bravada I recently aquired was removed by the previous owner for no apparent reason. The vehicle is AWD and I would like to fix it up to original condition. While reading Chiltons it says that if you remove the drive shaft you should mark the shaft and transfer case and axle so you can line the marks back up when installing it. So my question is how do i figure out the correct way of installing a new drive shaft? I plan on getting one from a junk yard to install. Thanks for any and all help.

Re: Front drive shaft

The manual says that to minimize the chance of vibrations. That way, you'll put it back together exactly the way the factory did.
Since you're getting a junkyard shaft the alignment won't matter anyways. If you end up with vibration problems, take the shaft to a competent shop that can balance it for you. You probably won't have that problem though.
