lift kit

I was wondering if a 33 inch tire would fit under my 99 jimmy with a 5 inch trailmaster lift. Or would it be a good idea to get a body lift also. If i do get these tires do i need to get lower gearing. Also are there aftermarket axle parts to beef up an ifs or with such a big tire would it be essential to do a solid front axle swap. If so do you know anyone who does. Also do you know of any other complications that could arise with either the bigger tires or the sfa swap. Any help would be apreciated.

Re: lift kit

seeing how a 32inch tire is suggested for the 5 inch lift it would most likely be a good idea to go ahead and throw on a body lift too. I have 4 inches of lift on my 96 jimmy and had to do extensive fender trimming on the front. If you use factory rims and narrower tires you might be good without the body lift. You will still most likely rub when you turn sharp, but if your not afraid of trimming your fenders you might be able to help that a bit. as for changing gears, yes this is almost a must. I run 4.56s in my jimmy and it still dogs on the take off. I found one company that made a locker for that front end powertrax lock right PT 1935. Although I would suggest a SFA swap. I have had a lot of trouble with my IFS since I went to 33 inch tires. hope this helps you out.
