My sister has a 95 chevy blazer 4.3L and it likes to stall at idle . We have recently replaced spark plugs, gas pressure regulator( which solved the prolblem of gas leaking into the oil), idle air control( smoothed out the idle somewhat), oxygen sensor and pcm. Any ideas what else could be goin wrong with it to make it run rough and stall at idle. Thanks for your help.
Check the EGR valve. This believe it or not controls the idle on the GM 4.3s. It is more than likely partialy stuck open causing because of carbon. This is more than likely what is causing the stall. Have it checked out first before replacing it because these valves run around the $300 dollar price range.
Good Luck
If the EGR valve is stuck, I've heard you can clean it out and reuse it for a while. This is a good way of making sure if the problem is fixed.
The EGR is a ball valve, a ball inside a cylinder which when push one way will allow air/fluid to flow through, but if the ball is pushed/pulled the other way, it will block the opening.
