Hi need some advice.

Hi, I am in the market for a new truck. I have a 1987 Dodge Raider now and I am looking at a 1994 Chevy S-10 4x4 with the 4.3 Vortec. It has 160,000 miles on it. I have always been a import man but I figure I would get some input on this truck. Is there any big problems with these trucks trans, motor, rear, etc. Thanks for your help Tom

Re: Hi need some advice.

I have a 93 S10 Blazer with the 4.3 liter and a 5speed tranny. Other than plastic pieces breaking on the interior, I have no complaints about it. It has 130,000 miles on it and is still running strong with plenty of torque for what I use it for.

Re: Hi need some advice.

I don't think it realy matters what brand of truck you buy if the price is right and it does what you need it to do. All cars and trucks now a days are all built with high quailty parts and will last for a long time as long as you keep up with the maintance. I've had both fords and chevys with high miles (150'000 miles plus) and not had any real problems. I have known people who have had the same trucks as me with 100,000 fewer miles and had nothing but problems. but these people wouldn't change the oil but every 10,000 miles or so and would beat the tar out of thair rigs every time thay got behind the wheel.
