IDLER ARMS KEEPS FAILING

i have a 1996 gmc jimmy 4 door with a superlift 2" suspension lift. i up graded the torsion bars to the heavy duty g.m. bars which keep the trucks suspension nice and firm. my truck clears 31 by 10.50 bfg with no problem.the rear is suspended with add-a-leafs. my problem is that my front suspension is eating idler arms about once a year. a friend said he had heard that there may be a conversion to put a 3/4 ton idler arm on the s-15. this may fix the problem. have you guys heard of anything like this or do you have another possible fix? thank you in advance!

Re: IDLER ARMS KEEPS FAILING

or find an older s-truck and look for the idler arm thats more of a hinge and bracket design and use that one...... I had the same problem, I have the HD torsion bars and shackles and leafs with 32 MTRs, and I went through alot of idler arms and even got the life time warranty perfect circle performance HD idler arm and once a month I'd replace it (thats wheeling around twice a weekend) then I bought(50$) a junked S10 blazer, for spare tranny, transfer case and other parts and the idler arm looked funny more like a hinge than a joint. It hasn't failed in a year and a half...it was an 89 with a factory idler arm.
