i just got a 85 s-10 durango 4x4 for a project truck and im looking to put a 350 in it. what modifications do i need to do to the truck to do this?

Try Jags That Run and see what you can get from there.

The only thing I can gather from the 4x4 installation is that you have might have a difficult time with getting a good oil pan under there (clearance with the front axles).

I've seen it done to one S-10 a long time ago, and he never hooked up the front axle.

If you did it with a solid front axle swap that would take care of some of the clearance problems.
Since the S10 is such a light vehicle, you may want to consider a 4.3 V6. I had one in my 92, and thought it had plenty of power, and it wasn't built.
With the V6, you'd have less clearance issues.
