Need help w/ 91 S-10 Blazer

I'm over from the Jeep forum. My mom has a 91 S-10 Blazer 4-Dr, 4.3L, Auto, 4x, all options. It doesn't start most of the time. It does nothing.(no clicking) Dosen't matter if in park or neural wont' start. Checked the starter, an alt. both fine. Is there a sensor that could cause this? On Jeeps there is a TDC Sensor (Top Dead Center) that will do this. Does the 4.3L have something like this?

have you checked the battery and the cables? more specificaly the ground cable. one of the guys I work with was weeling and had a small tree break his negitive cable off at the frame and is died it took us a couple of hours and a few beers(cases) to find it but a very croaded cable or bad conection might have the same affect.

Do all the accessories get power when the ignition is in the "ON" position, even if the vehicle will not crank? If yes, then you'll want to try making a jumper that will bypass the Park/Neutral safety switch, which typically exists at the base of the steering column.

If, after you have bypassed the P/N switch, the engine starts, you should replace said switch, because it's good to have.

That is about the only thing I can think of that would cause it to work only on occasion... If it were most other stuff, it'd either work or it wouldn't work at all... For the most part... Can't hurt surely, easy to check...
