Corvette Engine in a Jimmy

I got this 89 S-15 Jimmy, and my friend and I wants to put a corvette engine in. I've seen other Jimmy's with Corvette engines in it already, with the 700R4 tranny, but all of them 2wd. Is it possible to put one in the 4x4? or is there no way the transfer case can take it?

Re: Corvette Engine in a Jimmy

The only problem I know of would be the oil pan clearing the front diff. But I'm sure someone makes a replacment that clears. Other than that I dont know of anything that would be different than a 2wd.

Re: Corvette Engine in a Jimmy

there was a guy from who did this... turned out he made a custom oil pan for it. I can't remember all the particulars, but i'm sure if you check over there, you'll find something out. You'd have pleny of clearance if you gut the IFS and go with a solid front axle too

Check with Advance adapters. They have a lot of parts/info on V8/S10 swaps.
