problems w/blown motor swap for Vortec 4.3

Hey all, this is my first time posting on the GM board I'm a Jeep board regualar. anyways I'm hoping you guys can help.
My dad blew the motor in his 96 sanoma 4.3 and we're doing good except for the belhousing bolts and the exhust bolts. I figuse we'll put the torches on the exhust bolts but I was told the tranny bolts are a pain anyways and that sometimes you have to lift the body. I was thinking drilling holes in the firewall to get at them. But I need as much help as I can get and you boys seem to be the ones I turned to first. Any tricks or hints will help us out alot. thank you for your time
