1989 GMC JIMMY

I just purchased this 89 GMC Jimmy S-15 it has a 4.3 L.and throttle body fuel injection. It will not get the short 2sec blast of gas it needs to get started. After it starts it runs and drives GREAT,no hesitation or dead spots,it runs perfect.
I have a Chevy Blazer S-10 same year so I have switched the ECM,MAP sensor, fuel relays, fuses and I also bought and replaced the fuel pressure regulator(a rebuild kit).
NOTHING HELPS. One shot of starter spray and it will start every time. ANY HELP PLEASE!!

THANKS,
RALPH EMERSON

Re: 1989 GMC JIMMY

ever try putting a touch of throttle into it at startup? I get some pretty cold winters up here, and i punch the gas pedal a couple times as I crank just to get the engine to come to life. It's yet to fail me.

Re: 1989 GMC JIMMY

Let me preface with this is a guess...
Depending on how long it sits, you may have leaky injectors that do not hold the pressure. In other words, when you shut it off, the fuel behind the injectors leaks down and evaporates before next time you come out to start.
That doesn't really address why the fuel pump wouldn't pressurize the lines when it gets turned on, though...
