Easy/Cheap 1988 4.3 engine upgrades?

What are some simple engine upgrades I could do to my 1988 4.3 to increase HP? I am going to throw a K&N in. I'm not really sure what else.

Thanks

Cpi heads are they hard to put in and what kind of headers do you have ? I may be looking for power up grades, if you want to get rid of anything let me know. Need some cash though.
I put a K&N in my 1990 it helps but not that impressive.

After the K&N go with JB headers, Custom bend up your exhaust with whatever flavor of muffler minus your cat if you can legaly (depending on how green you are too).. A cam could give you the most power for the effort but choose wisely as it could kill the streetability.. Next is get the heads ported and polished and match ported to the intake.. This will cost the most but if anyone has had it done the power is tremendous.. Did this myself on my VW motor and my butt dyno could really tell the difference.. After that its nic nac stuff like electric fan, power pullies, bla bla bla.. Then finaly its supercharger time.. Once thats done pull it and drop in a strokered 350 to a 383 and dont look back..

surprisingly enough, CPI heads are a straight up bolt on. My uncle had an 89 TBI that he put CPI heads on before he sold it. I wish he woulda kept it, I coulda used that engine

the newer body style (94-98 or 99) ran CPI in most cases. my mom's 98 is CPI, but if i steal her heads, she's gonna kill me.

I believe the first year for CPI 4.3 was 93, however it could have been 94. I know 94 was the last year for the box s10 blazers, and s15 Jimmy's. I thought the brand new ones had CPI also, I guess not...
