Re: Fabritech swap

The kit calls for a dana 30 from a Cherokee or Comanshee(spl?) and I believe that the TJ and 1st gen Grand Cherokee axles will work but not sure. Also, if that isn't beef enough, wasn't for me, I've heard you can get weld-on brackets to make a dana 44 work.

Re: Fabritech swap

i was talking to a guy i know that has a scrap yard he said he can get me anything i need. he said to go with leaf springs and just fabricate the mounts for the leaf springs. he said he could do that. if i went leaf spring what axle would be recommended for a leaf spring setup. he was saying he could get anything from ford or jeep with drivers side diff. the d44 what type and years did they come in? i found a d30 from a 86 cherokee with 4.10 gears rotor to rotor for $200 it had coil springs can i just weld leaf spring perches on that and cut everything else off, he also said it was the kind that didn't use the vacume(sp)lockup. could i just use that axle with leaf springs or should i look for a d44
