Re: Anyone have late 70\'s ford axles sittin around

I had this conversation yesterday about a guy who wanted to upgrade his Ranger Pre-runner axle to a 31 spline from a 28 spline. The old story was that getting a Versailles rear-end would fix that, but I was told that after having to do all the work on the axles to get it set up right and fix whatever was busted you were almost at the point of buying some from somewhere.

Re: Anyone have late 70\'s ford axles sittin around

What? I want the whole damn axle! I want fullsize wide as all get out Ford 3/4 ton truck axles, most had a d44 front and d60 rear, and many had 4.11 gear ratio, I am not tryin to stuff diffrent axles in my junk housings, diffrent fullsize stuff all around, why stay small? Its tall enough it could use the width in my opinion, now if I can figure out a rear steer on showstring budget..........J/J

Oooh, I think you just answered your own question... SHOE STRINGS! Tie them up from front to rear. Cheap, easy and replacment parts are readily available!
