Zr2 nagging noise!!!!!!!

My buddy has a 1998 Zr2 S-10 and any time you hit a bump while turning there is this nasty clunking noise. It also does it while going forward and in reverse when trying to get out of the driveway. I've checked everything and cannot see anything that is wrong. The noise seems to be comming from the middle of the truck. I think the lower and maybe the upper balljoints are shot, would this have anything to do with it? U-joints????? Please help me!!!!!!!

Re: Zr2 nagging noise!!!!!!!

Check where the torsion bars mount in the rear. From the clunk noise you are describe it could be a broken link on the crossmember. The crossmember, if it's teh same on my '98 regular is actually suspended higher up and not directly attached to the frame. Cheap part, pain in the arse to replace.
