CSI guage and electric fans

I was skimming through Summit magizine and noticed a new CSI guage that lets u adjust the turn
on and turn off tepm settings. Will this work with a aftermarket electric fan?How much hp would u
free up when u switch to electric fans?Do the electric fans work good with the 4.3?

Re: CSI guage and electric fans

I installed the Black Magic #60 from Flex-a-lite and it works grate. Didn't notice any HP gains. Installed the fan instead of cutting the fan shroud for my 2" body lift. Advantage is that it has a thermo controll on it. I can adjust it to come on whenever I want. Also has an on/off switch (not included) for water crossings. Cools faster than stock. One day job. Hardest part was the wiring. Summit was the best price I found at $230 i think. Don't need anything else with this fan cept the switch.

Re: CSI guage and electric fans

I don't know how on a later model or a 4.3 ,on my '87 2.8
I went to the bone yard and started measuring fans and
came up with a 17" fan from a M Benz that fit in the circumfrence
of the existing shroud with about 1/4" clearance all the way around
after a little creative engineering you can't even tell unless unless
you were looking for it. Total investment(including relays, wire, sensor
and fan)less than $45.00(like I said in a diffrent post: Junk Yard Dog)
made a small diffrence in milage, med diff in power(big diff passing @70
w/ A/C on) HUGE diffrence in cooling expecialy durring the summer in stop
and go. I still need to put a small pusher on wired to the A/C for when the
main fan is not on. I'm happy with the change, for what thats worth.
