2.8 Which muffler ?

I want to open up the exuast on my truck with a new muffler. The ones I have used before are just normal mufflers and the inlet is only 2" I think. I know they have to swell the pipe in them to get them on. What muffler sounds good ( a low rumble ) on a 2.8 ? I dont want something that is going to sound like a goat with his gnads in a washer wringer. If one cant be had that sounds good then can you get one that will still open it up but be quiet ? Thanks guys.

One word of advice don't use PaceSetter JUNK! I would go for a bigger 21/4" or
21/2" pipe Cat -back and a straight through(Turbo) or chambered one like a Hooker Aero chamber which are cheaper than Flowmasters. You could also use a resonator tip with a bigger diameter to give it a rumble. It worked with my 4.3,
my Baja has a burned-out glasspack(Pissed off bumble bee)so I don't know how they sound on a 2.8.

Re: 2.8 Which muffler ?

Has anyone tried the Dynomax cat back system? I just blew out my muffler on the way home today and the beast is due for inspection. Is it worth $85?

I want to be a follower, but all the leaders seem to be lost.

Re: 2.8 Which muffler ?

I have the cynomax system on my 85 2.8l blazer. it has a nice mellow rumble to it at cruiseing speeds. the system is 2 1/4 from the cat back. i also did the cat with mine due to the fact that the original was a old pellet sytle. there was a very noticable power increase with this system and it doesn't sound bad either.
