anyone have an idea

I have an 87 s15 jimmy with a 2.8 that i am doing some horsepower upgrades to one of which is a supercharger that i came across
on a good deal but my probeblem is the supercharger is originally off an 83' s10 an used a carburator so that is what the charger is
setup for but i want to use my tbi unit. Does anyone have any idea where i might find an adaptor plate to go from a rochester carb
to a tbi unit? i have tried calling the supercharger copmany but they have apparently gone out of bussiness. If anyone has an idea
where i might find this or want to know more about my project e-mail me at [email protected]
any idea would be helpful
thanks

Re: anyone have an idea

Are superchargers factory units in early S-10's? How exactly do they work? Do they add alot of power?

Re: anyone have an idea

I would assume that it's an aftermarket part. Since Firebirds and Camaros had the 2.8L I'll bet it was probably originally intended for those, and someone might have put it on some 2.8L powered trucks. The amount of power it adds mainly depends on how much boost it makes. Instead of relying on atmospheric pressure to push air and fuel into the engine when the pistons move down in the cylinders and create a vacuum, the supercharger actually pressurizes the intake, to ram air and fuel into the cylinders. I'm not sure how it'd work on a little engine like these, but people with Japanese cars have been using turbos and superchargers for a long time to get more power... [carzy]

Re: anyone have an idea

i have the truck running with a two barrel carb.(which is running like crap) but even with that it has alot more power then before (i also drop in a crane cam, headers and dual 21/2 in exhaust with flowmasters) But i know it would do alot better with either a four barrel or a tbi unit which i would prefer since i already have the computer. The supercharger was bought by a friend of mine from a company called KF and it was built to fit s10 and jeeps. so if you have any ideas for me please drop me a note i am running out of sources and i still do not have my adaptor plate.

thanks
