I rad that the 3.4 camaro engine swaps into a 2.8l s10 easier than the 4.3 or 350 swap. Has anyone done this? Or does anyone have any more info about this swap? (motor mounts, tranny, dash mods, computer)? Thanks for any help!
Check out the "can't find a 2.8" thread a few posts down, most of the answers to your questions are there. I know several guys who have done the swap with great success. A friend of mine did the swap into his '85 Blazer about 3 years ago; he loves it. He's smoking stock 4.3 Blazers easily. He put the Edelbrock Performer 4-bbl manifold, Holley 500 CFM carb, headers and roller rockers. Runs real good.
A lot of '89-91 V6 Trooper owners are doing the swap, too. Most of them regularly post at www.ITOG.com, the Isuzu Trooper Owner's Guild. The combo of 4:56 gears and 160 HP really moves out nicely! A few have done the wiring harness/etc/etc swap to retain the Camaro's EFI system, but most have just bolted up a larger TBI (Holley Big-Bore or GM stock 4.3), along with boring the intake to suit. With TBI and a 2-1/2" exhaust system you are still getting more HP than a stock 4.3 TBI motor. Hope this helps.....ed
