I think you won't need to tap anything, because you'd just be eliminating the plug that they put in to cover the idle mixture screw... You're definitely going to want to call up a dealer or a carb shop or something and ask about it though, just to be sure of the exact stuff that has to be done (I'd say a private shop might be a bit more open about giving that kind of info out than a dealer, but I could be wrong there)... When I had the idle mix wrong on my 'burb, I couldn't really tell on low speeds, but when I'd kick the throttle all the way down, you could definitely see some carbon flyin' out the pipes... I found some information in the Haynes manual about how to get rid of the plug over the mixture screw... If you'd like me to scan the related pages and email 'em to you, let me know...
