Heater woes...

Stepfather just bought a '91 s-10. The blower motor only works when the switch is in the "hi" position, No low or medium. This forces him to have all or nothing, and it dont take long to get HOT in that little cab. Anyway, I'd appreciate any ideas, Thanks- John

Re: Heater woes...

Sounds like a bad resistor or a bad motor... I'd guess the resistor... Unfortuneately I don't know where it's located exactly...

Re: Heater woes...

under the hood, on the evaporator housing there is a electrical plug w/4wires
on top, that is the blower resistor. unplug it, take out the two 8mm screws
and pull it out. there is a diode and three resistor coils, check them with
a multimeter,98% chance thats your prob, other 2% switch in the dash.
