Re: Super Chip location

Have you checked in the kick panel on the passenger side? That's where most of them are kept. Another thing, there might be a spot in the engine compartment, instead of inside the passenger area...

When you do get it hooked up, let us know how it goes! Unfortunately my '98 doesn't have a removable chip; I'd have to send it in to get the chip replaced (which means about two days down time). I just want to make sure it's worth it!

Re: Super Chip location

Geez J.R., you're gonna let a little thing like a non removable chip stop you from upgradin'? haha.. Just go to the computer store, and buy your own computer chip and weld it on there... At least you could use it for video games... Seriously though, something like an actual vehicle to sit in and actual real feeling controls would be awesome for a driving sim game.. But that wouldn't be much fun then... haha

Just jokin' around btw...

Re: Super Chip location

Imagine all the money I save by going to the NASCAR simulators instead of buying my own car! ... I hate roundy-round anyway... Open dez is the way to go!
Like, uh, many other things in life (you can figure out some of them, I'm sure) nothing beats the real deal...

LOL!

Good point J.R.! Though, we could put some hydraulic rams under your truck, and make it like one of those cool fighter jet simulators the military uses, just replace that program with one that displays desert out your windows...

Re: Super Chip location

I could do that, but if I put any type of hydraulics on my truck, state law requires I move to Long Beach and register as a low rider... Sorry man!

I'm STILL waiting for an off-road racing simulator, though. Imagine hitting simulated bumps at a simulated speed of 65 simulated mph and not feeling a simulated thing... That would be simulated happiness!

Re: Super Chip location

Actually, there whas an EE student up here that made his entire car computer controlled. No joke. He put a touch screen in the dash and a computer in the center console. He could watch movies from it, everything. The coolest part was it was remote controled. For his senoir design project, his car drove itself around the parking lot. That's some crazy [censored]! He graduated 2 years ago and they still talk about him.

Re: Super Chip location

I totally believe that story! I'm waiting for the days when they put sensors in the road for people to go on autopilot to Vegas someday. They've talked about it for years and plan to do it. They just need to get the technology straight.

Re: Super Chip location

They've already done some tests on autopilot equipped vehicles. The major hurdle for them now is to get the marker beacons embeded in the road and make the tech dependable enough for the average person to use it.
