Chevy mail list...

Is anyone signed up for the Chevy e-mail list? I signed up for the digest mode, and so far have not received a single e-mail from it.

Just wondering.

Re: Chevy mail list...

What's the email list do??? You're talkin' about the one from ORC ain't you? I didn't sign up for it cuz I figured I'd be readin' the forums everyday so there wasn't much of a point for me to use it... Is that what it does?

Re: Chevy mail list...

It's the same basic idea as the forum, just in e-mail mode, and yes from ORC. It was really big with the Toyota crowd, but since this forum came up I'm guessing it's not that big...
Oh, well!

Re: Chevy mail list...

It's still new so it might take some time before it gets going. I see a weekly average of 5-7 new people that subscribe. I guess nobody has anything to say...

Here's the email address:
[email protected]

You have to join to send or receive anything. The Chevy-GMC page has a link for this.

Re: Chevy mail list...

Can someone explain the difference between realtime and digest modes?

Re: Chevy mail list...

The real-time mode allows you to get the email message immediately. So lets say 50 people post to this mail list, then you would have 50 email messages in your inbox.

The digest mode gathers up all the messages and sends you them at 1 time. You would only get 1 email but in that email, you would see every message. The digest is slower but you won't be bombarded with emails (not that we have that problem now).

Hope this made sense. Let me know if you still have questions.

Re: Chevy mail list...

Ok, it says I'm now a member, but one more question: How do I use this thing? I read the instruction thingee but didn't see where to send any messages, and things like that... That is what it is for isn't it?

Re: Chevy mail list...

Just create a new email and send it to [email protected]
Subject and content can be anything you want. It will then transfer that email to all the others who are subscribed to the same list.
