sbc 350 swap

Ok, well I have a bad ring or two in the ole engine and found a fresh 350 for 350.00 bucks, Im not sure on the cam specs but they guy that has it had it set up for a carb. I have TBI and he said with a diff cam it would work with my TBI. I have been reading for hrs to find out what diff their is between a cam in a carbed 350 as opposed to one in a TBI 350. The only thing I can think of is that the TBI with a larger cam would throw the computer for a loop, and probly not idle to well and my not even run very smooth. If this is the only thing that stands in my way, I will see if its cheaper to re-program the computer or just replace the cam. I really dont want to replace the cam as I do want a little extra gitty-up-go in er'. Oh yea and it will need an intake, but thats going to be my stock intake from my engine.

95 GMC Z71. Headers no cats, x-pipe, true dual pipes from the headers back. Ranger 2950 10m ham radio w/102" whip and Radio Shack 2m ham radio w/ Motorola commercial nmo antenna

If the cam is mild enough that it can run with stock lifters, your fuel injection should be just fine. Your biggest problem might be a lean mixture issue if the injectors dont feed it enough. I would drop it in & run it. Worst case scenario, You might need a different injector head for your throttle body!
