68 K20 Transfer Case ??

OK, here I go -
Got a 1968 K20. 3 questions:
1) Does the front driveshaft ALWAYS turn in 2WD or 4WD whether the hubs are locked or not ??
2) How can I tell if it is stuck in 4WD without jacking up the whole truck and putting it in gear ??
3) I have 2 levers that go to the transfer case. I don't know the positioning of these levers for 2WD, N, 4WD, 4LO. I also have a PTO for a front winch that one of the levers may? control.

Any ideas that could help explain the T-Case and help me get it out of 4WD (if it's in 4WD) would be helpful !!

Update - The number stamped into hte transfer case is: C 92501N (I think). No tag with a model # unfortunately.

1 no the hubs have to be locked in
2 if you have been on pavement and tried to turn with it locked in you would feel it pull. Or it would feel like a pissed of horse if you have posi as far as levers the 1 on the left should be 2-4 selector and the other should be hi-lo. And as far as the pto it should have a pull cable located on the dash, bumper or by the bottom of the seat. Make sure to find out max rpms or you will blow the pump. Then you have to pull the system apart to make sure you don't lose the wench
2 hi
4 lo
