Father\'s Day - Fun Run (epilogue)

Ahhhh, Camping and 4X4ing on Father's Day weekend.
Had a blast, and finally found out the true trail prowess of the rig without sway bars.
Man, are my kidneys and back thanking me!
Too bad, as usual, I had the camera.
Not enough pics of The Lab Hab in action.

Here's our quaint camp.

And a little trail action.

The full image albums are just a click away.

Frontier 4 Wheelers Father's Day Fun Run
The group actually split in two on Saturday for the big runs.
We had separate "easy" Red Rock and "hard" Leadville runs.
I'm sure you can guess which one we chose.
I know there was at least one more camera out there,
so with any luck, we'll be in a couple more shots.

...And once again.....You manage to take your 'average' scenery pics that only totally blow away the entire state i live in.....its just not fair!
...And is that snow i see? Wow, ive never seen snow in april before, let alone june!

and finally found out the true trail prowess of the rig without sway bars
So i guess you had some really cool off-camber adventures, huh? Well, lets hear em!

I'm still grinning from ear to ear after that mod.
The truck is so much smoother and predictable now.
The off-camber situations will take a little getting used to, but I now know what to expect.
Biggest thing is to leave enough room to the side you'll be leaning towards.
Those trees were awful close to contacting my "virgin" body panels.
I don't really think it leans that much more,
it's just that I get so much more "stuff and droop" out of the rear end, it feels that way.

Darn good thing you've got some hurkin' axles under that thing for some low center of gravity weight.

Re: Father\'s Day - Fun Run (epilogue)

Hey RepT, I went to Ohio this weekend and rolled the F350 . Of course the cell phone and camera took a bath, so I don't have any pics. I'm waiting for some of the other guys in the group to e-mail me some pics so I can post em'

WD40 I think you have more fun than anyone I know, seems like your always out having a good time . I always enjoy the beautifull scenery in you wheelin' trips, keep them comming. You have also inspired me to ditch the sway bars, now I'll be able to give you guys the gratuitous flex shot.

Re: Father\'s Day - Fun Run (epilogue)

There was a mud hole on the left (too deep) and a go around on the right (slight incline). The guy in front of me barely made it through the go around and his left rear tire kinda dug out the embankment. I tried and kept sliding down towards the pit. I figured with a little more momentum and a little umph...I'd get by. NOPE!!! I started sliding down and as soon as my left tires went over the edge....over she went. The left front fender and door are trashed. The windshield is busted. The dash is full of mud. Then on the very last obstacle to get out, I kissed a tree on my right and took out the door, cab corner and bed.

I think I'll try it again in a couple months.

What altitude were you at Doug?

And, what's that guy doing to the trail? Looks like he has a shovel, is he smoothing it out for the Jeeps?
