i can\'t turn off my light!
Every once in a while (pretty often) the interior light in my truck won't go off. (95 Ford Ranger). I've had my dad look at it and we cannot figure out how to turn it off. The only thing that works is to back up the truck about 10 feet. I don't always have time to wait around and see whether or not the light will go off, and I really don't like to leave it on for extended periods of time. There isn't a switch anywhere that'll turn the light off. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Re: i can\'t turn off my light!
If you don't have the old-style pin switches in the door jambs for the dome light, then they're inside the door latches inside the doors. If it's the pin, unscrew it, unplug the connector, and use a pair of channel-locks to push the threaded collar down on the brass sleeve so the pin sticks out all the way. Then reinstall it, and close the door slowly. The door will push the sleeve into the collar to where it needs to be.
If it's the internal switch, I've heard some people have success with just hosing the latches out with WD-40 or Liquid Wrench.
