I have a 93 Bronco and the engines main bearings needs replacing the engine is a stock 302EFI, can I replace the main bearings without pulling the engine?

Re: engine question

No, its not possible unless you got octopus arms cuz you cannot *fully* remove the oil pan under a bronco even jacking the engine as high as possible with the upper intake off, anyways, if your main bearings are bad enough the rods are even gonna be worse as they recieve lubrication after the mains. Sorry , been there already , its simply not worth patching the lower end on a 5.0 in a 4X4 truck unless you plan to put a for sale sign on it the next day. If your main bearings on a 5.0 are bad, most likely your rod bearings, your oil-pump, timing chain , rings & seals are not much better or worse.

welllll, that all depends on your level of commitment if you cut the exhaust after the cat and remove it, you actually can completely remove the oilpan and give it a nice cleaning while you change the oilpump and gaskets. but as i said on another thread just a second ago, you dont want to go that route even if it means you have to buy a hoist
