Re: ford vs chevy

I think that's his idea. Oh well.....to each his own. I'd rather spend my time working on my 5 Broncos than arguing why Ford is better than Chevy is better than Dodge is better than Jeep is better than................

Re: ford vs chevy

I dunno, I have a 2002 F-150 XLT extended cab FX4 Off Road package. The FX4 comes with 5.4L Triton V8, rancho shocks, skid plates and 17" tires. I love my new (First new) truck, but however I do know that Chevy gets 285hp from a 5.3L V8 when my ford only gets 260hp from the 5.4L. Chevy does have engines with larger displacement and more hp. But I do love the looks of the F-150 better than any truck on the road. What do you guys think?

Think

We all think our own truck is the best-looking truck on the road.

Re: ford vs chevy

For what its worth Fide66, your 5.4L has 350lbs. of torque at a more usable(for a truck) rpm of 2500 vs. the chevies [email protected] 4000K.

To me, torque is way more important in a truck than 15 measily HP

Drive a torqueless 5.0L Bronco for a while and youll understand

Re: ford vs chevy

yeah, my dad's new Mayor (dodge, sorry, it was cheap ) is damn fast compared to my truck, but i didnt realize why until the most recent time i drove it... the revs! they have the engine so quiet that you can barely tell it's running, but man when i was ON IT i glanced at the tach and that sucker was shifting at like 6k rpm! revvy little sucker it is! fun to drive, but not exactly a trailer pulling machine (4.7L "next generation" by the way)

Re: ford vs chevy

Got to pull me a chevy out of the mud on the side of the road yesterday. Some [email protected]#$ with a stock 4X4 chebby trying to find the bottom of some 18-24 inch ruts with some more H/T looking A/Ts, couldn't. Jacked up 2WD couldn't/wouldn't help him. Took a Ford to fix the problem......
