power steering add?

Hi,

I'm new to Broncos (but not 4wheeling). I'm in the process of buying a 77 Bronco for my wife (she's wanted an early Bronco ever since she was a little girl). The one that I'm buying doesn't have power steering but for the price it's an otherwise great deal. I'm not a mechanic but I can find my way around a garage, so is putting power steering in a fairly easy task? I have a 61 Willys wagon w/out power steering and its a bear for me to drive so putting this in the Bronco is going to my first project (on a never ending list). Has anyone ever done this, and do they have pics or a write-up? Thanks for the help.

If it ain't broke, you took the easy way around.

Re: power steering add?

There are a couple of different ways to do this. As usual the easier systems to install are also the most expensive. Taking the factory PS off another Bronco or ordering a complete conversion kit from one of the Bronco parts places is the most simple way of doing it. If you want to save some cash and don't mind doing a little more work there are other non-Bronco donor PS boxes you can go with. Try the following page for a bunch of links dealing with different PS systems:
