I have a '74 with front drum brakes and would like to convert it to disc. I was told that if I got a '77 or '78 F150 front axle that I could use the parts from it to change mine over. Has anyone done this, or is there a better way? All input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Go to Bronco.com.
There is a conversion from Chevy to Ford.
It uses Chevy spindles, backing plates, calipers, and Ford Rotors. The parts are extremely easy to find, and the total bill will be approx $250 depending on what you buy new.
I did mine and it took several hours after I found all the parts. Now it stops on a dime. No power brakes needed.
Hope this Helps.
