Rear-end upgrades?

Ok, got the '72 stock rear-end that needs some mods... I'd like to do a l/s and (hopefully) upgrade to 31 spline axles... What's the easiest way to do this? Bronco.com says the "lock-rite" system can be installed by just about anyone... and I can get one to handle the 31spline axles that I'd like to drop in...

So is it really that easy? I'm no genius, and I hate rolling down to the tranny shop begging them to fix something I've FUBAR'd.

Sure would like to hear from some experienced folks...
