I had a similar problem with my expedition. I talked with my friend, a ford mechanic at the dealership. Out of a few hundred expeditions, F-150's, F250's, and so on, only on 2 of the vehicles had the rotors come off. I had to do a wheel-bearing on both sides of my expedition.
How I was told to do it, and its costly but really the only way, is to break the rotors.
I tried with a 10lb sledgehammer to break the hats, with no luck. what I ended up doing is heating up the top of the rotor hat, and literally cracked the rotor with a hammer.
Thats what I was told to do. It cost me an extra 60$ for rotors, but your buying new ones anyway.
