Need help with hubs

I just figured out that the manual locking hubs on my 82 Bronco are missing the o-ring that goes between the cover and the wheel hub. One looked loose, and I went to tighten all the allen bolts, and they were tight.

Ford does not sell this o-ring separatly or say what size it is in the service manual or at the dealer parts computer. It does come with a hub repair kit, but I really do not need the kits.

Does anyone know what size this is, where to get some, or how to fake it?

If you can't buy it locally I'd personally search on Ebay for "o-rings." I'm sure you can make something work.

or you could just RTV sealant on it. leave the screws a little loose, put the sealant on, then tighten them back up after it dries for awhile. you probably dont want any of that junk in your bearings though so dont use a ton.

Re: Need help with hubs

I bought some generic ones that worked fine for several years before I got these MM hubs. I found them at a belt & rubber supply house in Lake Charles, LA 70605 (hometown) - possibly "Lake Charles Belt & Hose"??? Seems like they charged me $1.50 ea.

BTW They're about 3" diameter x 1/16" cross-section.
