t-case???

I just tried to use my 4 wheel drive today and the back tires were spinning but even with the hubs locked the front didn't do anything. What could be broken? I have the superwinch hubs. Is this a hub problem? Is there some kind of fuse system in these hubs? Or could this be a problem in the t-case? Any info would be great.

Thanks
Scott

Re: t-case???

Is the front driveshaft spinning? that will narrow it down to either a front axle problem or t-case problem.

Re: t-case???

Do you have an NP-208F or a BW-1356? Shift the T-case to 4Hi with the truck off & in Park or 2nd, but the hubs unlocked. Get underneath & see if you can turn the front d'shaft by hand - if it turns, your t-case isn't in 4. Then shift to 2Hi, lock the hubs, & try turning each of the u-joints inside the steering knuckles - each will turn only if that hub isn't locking in.

Re: t-case???

Are you sure? Unless you have some type of locker in the front diff one tire may be spinning and the one you were looking at was not.

Re: t-case???

How DARE YOU question steve!!! Haha, just kidding. He's saying if the hubs are locked in and the tires are on the ground, then the axle shaft ujoints shouldn't be able to spin, as the hub locks them to the tire, which obviously can't rotate if it's on the ground. However, if you have autohubs, there's no telling what will happen, that's why everybody should have manuals :-)
