Small added lift for rear

Has anyone heard of using ford 3/4 ton shackles for a small added lift to the rear? I am looking for only about 3/4 inch. Would like to level the rear with the front and want an easy way.

Re: Small added lift for rear

W/the stock setup longer shackles will lower the truck in the rear. Shorter shackles would raise it somewhat (barely) but other problems might arise, never looked into that. Keep in mind shackle lifts provide 1/2 the amount of change in shackle length, i.e. shackle 1.5" shorter will lift 3/4". Again, I've never heard of anyone going to shorter shackles for lift. I'd use a 1" block unless you're already using blocks.

My bro's s10 blazer squatted in the rear real bad, so he got a 2" add-a-leaf. Now it looks bitchin

Re: Small added lift for rear

the only reason a longer shackle would lower the truck, is because ford uses a reverse shackel rear perch. if you bust the rivets off the shackle perch, and weld/bolt it on the other way, that would lift you , but i imagine more then the 3/4 of an inch that you seek. if you find a reasonable way to lift it, i would like to know, as i am seeking the same thing right now. i have ordered two block kits, btu niether one fit the bronco. my camber will never be right, until i can get that ass up in the air once again.

Re: Small added lift for rear

I used Rancho 1-1/2" to 2" add-a-leafs, but removed the stock leaf that was the same length as the add-a-leaf.
Netted me 1" lift after all was said and done.
Rides a little harsh though.
