Power windows -again

Picked up my 1991 I bought in Sarasota Florida weds. Left for Rochester Ny Friday. At 1st gas station Pass window went down and would not go back up. Started to doubt my wisdom then and there but that was my only problem for the trip.
I have read all posts I could find. Got holes drilled and motor out. Motor runs fine. Gear turns both ways. Found 1/2 of a black plastic bushing lay in the in bottom of door{ dont know where that goes}...Is this my problem? Not sure what to look for?
Thanks Jim

Re: Power windows -again

Take off the cover on the motor where the gear is,there is a plastic piece thats probaly worn out. It's called a window lift. You can buy a replacement at the parts store.

Power window gear

See if you can hold the gear still while the motor turns, even using pliers. If you can, it's the part billy described. The repair kit I bought ~8 years ago for the big plastic gear in all 3 window motors is:

68-3157
PN: DOAZ-62234A24
Gear (9-tooth)
power window Regulator
Ford '64/
1 Pc.

I think it was about $12 from the dealer and it's easy to install.
