Big tires - small lift

I'm in the process of purchasing my first Bronco, a '96, and want to run a set of BFG 35x12.5 M/T's. I know I can run a set of 32x11.5's stock and some 33x12.5's with a some trimming. What is the smallest lift that is reasonable with 35" tires? I'd like to keep the truck as low as possible and still get the ground clearance offered by 35's. Will a 2-3" suspension lift (with larger bumpstops) and some trimming be enough?

If you would do a 3" bodylift you wouldn need to worry about bumpstops, and it would keep center of gravity lower. I dont know if it would be enoug lift though, you might have to get cut out fender flares and move the bumper out an inch or so. The backspacing on teh wheels would be importnat too. I guess that woul give you enough clearance, if not you could add coil spacers for 1 or 2 more inches.

Re: Big tires - small lift

In the past it has been recommended that people get the 4in lift, but there was this one guy that posted that his tires still rub, and totally suggested that a 6in lift be used.

Re: Big tires - small lift

a three inch body lift was good on an 88 bronco with 35x12.5 BFG Mud Terrains, except for the front bumper. there will be a gap becuase of the lift, so we made a bracket that lifted the bumper up, and moved it forward a little on my friends bronco. i think the clearence should be the same on your 96.
