460 with efi?

has anyone changed there motor to a 460 with efi (cant find a complete motor!) ? Of course my 81 came with the 351m so th 460 will bolt right up to the transmission just need new motor mounts and the oil pan change for the cross member.

And an alternator...all the cooling stuff (water pump, ect)...Heavy duty(er) springs....Exhaust...ect. You might want to email SteveUzi. He just completed a 460 swap in his Bronc. He'd be able to tell u of all the probs he's encountered first hand. You can email him @ [email protected] ...I'm pretty sure that he ran a carb setup, but for the majority he can tell u wassuh.

Re: 460 with efi?

No need to swap springs the 460 is lighter than the 351/400M.I used a carb on my 79' and got the complete engine.Just ewapped the oil pan for one from a van/pick-up tube, made my own solid mounts out of thr 400's and 460's,then changed out one power steering hose, and modified the exhaust.Too bad you don't live down South. Both my 78 and 79 are for sale.$1500 and $3500.

Re: 460 with efi?

TisforTEXAS is right. If you have a 351/400m, the swap is a breeze and the 460 is LIGHTER, not heavier than the orignal.
