Tires Recommendations

Time to replace the factory tires on my '95. What are your thoughts on tires. What sizes might I consider and any manufactures and models? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Tires Recommendations

need more details? what are you going to be using the truck for? lots of Hwy driving? all off road? city driving? stock rims? stock height? give some specifics for a better answer. Not harping, just trying to get you the best answer.

Re: Tires Recommendations

You should fill out your bio that way people could look there and maybe find out what they need to know to help you out.

Re: Tires Recommendations

Point well taken. i have filled out my bio section. I have 15" factory rims and am still on the original tires. They are 235 75/r15. I live on a dirt road that at present time is an ice slick. i drive the Bronco on alot of dirt and state forest roads, but i also drive a fair amount of highway to get there. I also tow a boat in the summer with it. I am looking to walk that thin line between off road and on road. I am thinking about going with a larger tire, but am not sure if that is a good idea. I am worried about road noise if I go with too wide of a tire and am wondering about speedometer accuracy if I go larger.

i don't want to go radical with the tires just improve the stance of my Bronco and gain a little extra clearance.

Re: Tires Recommendations

In your situation I would go with 44" Boggers. Not too loud on the highway and your speedometer would only be off by 75% or so. But they do very well in the mud.

It's a Jeep thing? My Bronco thing will run over your little Jeep thing.

Re: Tires Recommendations

I have 31-10.5-15 on mine stock suspension I don't plan on much off-roading I use mine more on pavement (unfortunatly)!
But It does affect my spedo. alittle about 5 or 6 mph at 60. It may have given me a inch or so lift but I can't really tell. Right now I am in the process of engine swap. the next set of meats I get will be 31's too. It seems to fill that awful gap in the well. I don't get too much road noise. If you don't want road noise don't get an aggressive tread. Or put the 44's on and drive over people--haha!!

Re: Tires Recommendations

1) Are you planning on lifting the truck? If so, I would wait till you do that and then figure out what tires best suit your needs.

2) If you are NOT planning on lifting the truck, then I would go for a 31x10.50x15 or a 32x10.50x15 A/T.

Re: Tires Recommendations

Guys,
How can you not love that hummmm??????!!? I hate my 39's because they don't hum loud enough! (It's actually kinda funny when you see a jogger five blocks in front of you turn to look behind him to see what the hell is so damn loud)

Re: Tires Recommendations

Thanks guys. I have another question. If the speedometer is going t be off won't the odometer be off as well? I had a guy today tell me that it would not, but i thought they both worked off of the drive shaft.

notoj: I don't plan on a lift kit.

Broncosaurus: I would not mind the noise so much if it wouldn't drown out my Lynard Skynard CD. Although if my wife is in the truck it could be a plus.
