To muffle or not to muffle????

Actually I am curious to see what kinds of mufflers you guys have used. I want a little meatier sound than stock and I wanted a little input. So which ones have you used and how did they sound, thanks.

Re: To muffle or not to muffle????

I spent 50 bucks at Checker and got a Raptor muffler and pipe. Hollowed out the catalitic converter and now have a soft rumble at an idle, and softer than a flowmaster at acceleration. I like it

Dont like it? LICK ME!!!

Stock '96, with a 351. I spent $80 on a Flowmaster that didn't fit. Started it up with just the cats and it sounded great. Ended up buying a small turbo muffler from Autozone for $15. It has a nice rumble.

hooker super comps, got em ceramic coated, to a 2 1/4 exhaust hooked to flow 50's and trashed the cats. it's somewhat loud, but really emphasizes the lope of my windsor.

I have a '90 bronco with vortex cat-back system 2 1/2 inch exhaust with 4inch chrome extentions 18" long. has a nice rumble, upped my power a little. Wife hates it which makes it even nicer!!!!

Re: To muffle or not to muffle????

I just had mine split into two pipes after the cat and got rid of the muffler. Not loud enough to attract attention but sounds damn good idling at stop lights and wound up in a mud hole at 4500. 93 351. Personally, I think people spend too much money on exhaust, especially headers, but it's where your priorities are. Good luck and I hope it sounds GOOD.

It's a Jeep thing? My Bronco thing will run over your little Jeep thing.
