Drive belt

My ford dealership advised me to change betlts after only 33000 easy miles. Is this normal for you other bronco owners?

Re: Drive belt

If it doesn't look damaged or if your still in the range on your belt tensioner then I would leave it. I have 65,000 on my 90 and never changed it.

Re: Drive belt

I don't think mine has a belt tensioner.

Re: Drive belt

You do. There is a sticker on the core support, the hood, or the air cleaner cover showing the drivebelt routing, and it should indicate which pulley is the tensioner. Tell us what engine you have and someone else who has it can tell you where the tensioner is. There is a pointer mark cast into the spring cover and a range guide on the bracket. If the pointer is in range, the belt should be OK.

Re: Drive belt

I have a 93 5.8 and its on the left (passenger) side, second pulley down...the spring is very noticable so it's easy to identify. by the way, belts for it are 37 at napa and 13 at autozone

It's a Jeep thing? My Bronco thing will run over your little Jeep thing.
