heater core

how hard is it to replace the heater core in a 89 bronco. mine has gone bad and i just picked up a new one and plan to install sometime after christmas. i was just wondering how hard it is??

89 Bronco XLT, V8 302, superwinch hubs, 31x10.50 trailhandlers, and many more mods to come!

It's too easy. Pull the glove box (not the door) to make it even easier. Just unhook the hoses in the engine compartment, remove the 6-10 screws holding the cover on behind the glove box, and pull the core out. To install, just make sure the gasket is back in place around the core and that the cover goes back on fully (no gaps around the lip). You should also ensure that the hole where the pipes go thru the firewall is sealed. If not, you'll get a rain leak that will seem like a bad core but without the antifreeze smell.

I gotta agree with steve83 I just did my 90 bronco in about 15 min. I had to use some rtv to seal my cover up it looks like it was replaced before and there was no seal.

90 Bronco w/302 auto. soon to be 351W with a little goodies 31-10.5-15 , 3.55 gears looking for mud!
