Carb. Rebuild Kit source?

Where is the best place to get a carb rebuild kit for my Bronco? Its an 85 351 5.8L 4-V 4Bbl. Anyone have any idea what kit I will need? How about the ones on Which do I need? The only one they list for a 4Bbl carb on the bronco is a holly model, is this what I have? Also, about how long does it take to rebuild the carb? Could I get it done in a weekend? I have above-average automotive skills. One other thing, is it really nesscessary to lable all the hoses and inputs on the carb, or are they pretty easy to figure out?

Re: Carb. Rebuild Kit source?

I don't think I would trust an online service to get the right carb kit. If they list/ship or you order the wrong one, you're pretty much screwed - it'll cost more money and time to send it back than it's worth. Any of the major parts houses will work with you to make sure you get the right kit. I use CarQuest, O'Reilly, Advance, NAPA, National, and Car Care. I wouldn't shop AutoZone if I needed low-grade dirty rags. BTW 4Venturi means the same as 4Barrel, 351=5.8L . Good name brands of kits (for any brand of carb) include Holley and Carter, but there are others. I have rebuilt carbs in as little as 45 min., but you should plan on a few hours for the first one. If you're not REALLY familiar with all the hoses and connectors in there, it's CERTAINLY worth a few extra minutes to wrap some masking tape around each one as you separate them.

Re: Carb. Rebuild Kit source?

I agree do not buy anything off a "net" business like They screwed me largely with my warn classic bumper. They gave me the run around so much that I went elsewhere to buy the hardware kit. I also agree about autozone. Advanced auto isn't that bad though. Napa is probably your best bet, but Personal opinion
