Re: Weid little black box under radiator??

What year is the truck? How big is the box? Do any/How many wires/hoses go to it? Is it behind the bumper or in the engine compartment? Is it a Ford part or aftermarket?

Hey MooseyKat

Long time no hear, how are things ?

I had a small retangular box behind the grill down low with a clear plastic pointer coming out the front of it, when I bought my 86. Turns out it was a radar detector the second last owner had installed on it. I followed a flat six wire tape wire all the way back under the dash and sure enough there it was. Good thing I found it before the cops did as they have hefty fines up here in Canada for using them.

Oh well one more item for the garage sale.

It sounds like it is the charcoal canister. It is used to filter the vapors from the fuel or something like that.
