Help, Water damage maybe!!

Guys, the bronc got sunk in the front half of a pool of water in the trails. The water came in the doors to teh back seat and was in height just under my bucket seats. So I nwo have found otu to change my oil, atf fluid, diff oil, power steering. Also to replace plugs, wires, and check teh compression to show any damage. Also dry under dist. cap and check and shake all electrical connectors in teh engine. Where are most of these. Any other things to do to get her back to normal. She is runnnin sooo bad. Help

Get a Haynes manual. You've got some work to do! By the way, I wouldn't drive it til you get this fixed, or the damage could get quite a bit worse.

It's a Jeep thing? My Bronco thing will run over your little Jeep thing.

You probly know this but for everyone else, spraying WD-40 on the underside of the cap will help. I got water everywhere as did you and I just sprayed the sshhtt out of every elecrical connection I could find. Got me home and havent had a problem

Thanks, you actually just spray all the connections or did you take em apart first. Also any interior help. Certain cleaner.

Re: Help, Water damage maybe!!

took apart as many connections as possible this isnt too easy with some connecions breaking so take it easy. the WD-40 displaces the water and makes for a better connection. However water does dry by itself. But also causes rusting in the connections. as for the interior? I just took out my carpet and said F--- it. and got some paintable undercoating from Checker and took care of the interior. Also cleaned up some rust spots and filled them with the undercoating. Works great, even quieter, but it is kinda slipery. otherwise just clean the carpet good and you should be fine. We were playing deep in the water, similar to yours but our water was WAY dirty and Im still finding water damage in hidden spots. like the old speakers. the back of my truck was DEEP, up above the top of the tailgate (kinda f'ed up on that call) and had to get pulled out from the front. good luck my friend
