Re: AC/Defrost take draw off battery

Well, I've been told a bunch of things intensify this problem(ie. bad ground, short somewhere, etc.), however the one that made sense to me was not enough juice! I checked my alt. and volt regulator and they were fine. Sincec, I still had the problem I just added a second battery to mine and haven't had any problems since.
Down the road, I would like to prefab a bigger alt. to mine, however I don't have the time. Anyone know of any sites what would help with that?

Re: AC/Defrost take draw off battery

The thing the A/C and Defrost have in common is the electro-magnetic compressor clutch. The compressor runs in Defrost mode to dehumidify the air. Have an auto-electric shop check the resistance thru the clutch to see if it's shorted and also the alternator to see if it's going bad. If your headlights don't kill the engine too, it's probably not the alternator.
