Tranny

I was wondering if vacume lines have much of anything to do with the transmission and shifting. If so, how do they, and where can i get a diagram. My bronco is messing up like none other. I have to shift manually. I have a 5.8L engine.

Thanks

Re: Tranny

The C6 uses a vacuum modulator for throttle pressure and engine load control. It is at the rear of the trans main section, on the driver side, just above the pan. It has a vacuum hose to intake manifold vacuum to it. If the hose came off, or has a leak, the trans will shift funny, or poorly. The diaphram can also fail and leak. Respond if you need more details.

Re: Tranny

My Bronco has a problem where only if it is very cold out, the C6 wont shift. It shifts only when I go throught the gears manualy on the column. This only lasts for maybe 10 mins. Once its warmed up, it shifts fine. I checked the vaccume hose to the modulator like you suggested and it looked fine. Do you think the next step is to replace the modulator or is my problem diffrent since it only happens when its cold?
Thanks for your time.
Tom
