When did the 5.0 get a hydraulic clutch?
I'm running a 5.0 in my 1978 Jeep CJ5. Currently, I've got the manual clutch set up. Similar to the "old school" factory set up that a lot of the vehicles have. I'm thinking that I want to move up to a hydraulic clutch. But I have no idea where to start. I'd prefer to have a slave cylinder that mounts around the transmission input shaft, but I have no idea if this is even possible.
The current bellhousing is an old cast iron job from an F150. I wouldn't mind swapping it out for something that would help with the clutch, but as always the cheaper the fix the better.
Anybody wanna shove me in a direction? I'm just lining up a winter project. Any and all information is welcomed.
