D44 TTB RF axle C- clip elimination
Can some one please explain the c-clip elimination on the RF D-44 axle?
I understand why you do it, but want to know if there is enough play to cause oil leakeage or if the axle stub will fly out if the axle breaks. I would also like to know an exact valve spring and length. I have plenty of 5.8l springs. I read the length as being 1-1.25". Placement appears to be in the boot at the union on the axle halves.
Give me details, web links or whatever you have. I have canabalized and cleaned up the D44 parts from my '89 and am filling it with a Detroit Locker and 4:88 for my '91.
